The owner of a local restaurant decided to treat customers and islanders to a firework display this weekend as a way of lifting spirits following a challenging year.
The glittering explosions lit up the sky over St. Aubin’s Bay on Sunday evening, coinciding with 4 July, organised by the Salty Dog’s Natalie Duffy.
“The hospitality industry has been on its knees over the course of the last year and Natalie hopes to send a message of positivity and thanks to islanders and others in the industry who have been such a support,” the venue said.

“After over 23 years serving islanders and tourists, The Salty Dog had never felt such a strain as it has through covid and it really is testament to Jersey’s community spirit that we can raise a glass and hopefully now move forward into a wonderful summer.”
Jersey Hospitaity Association CEO Simon Soar commented: "It’s great that we have the opportunity to celebrate some of the positive things we’ve seen through this difficult period. Rather than always having to deal with the negatives… We must remember that through the hard times, we are stronger as one! Congratulations Salty Dog team on such a fantastic statement to the island!”
