An adaptive action sport on skateboard ramps for disabled athletes will feature in Jersey for the first time next month as part of a new "carnival of skate culture".
World Champion Wheelchair Motorcross (WCMX) athletes will be showcasing their awesome talents in Bowl Ā Crock, a new "fun and jam style" event coming to Les Quennevais Skatepark on Saturday 21 September, in partnership with Skate Space and Skateboard Jersey.
Two WCMX pros Tomas Woods and Rebecca Proctor will be visiting the western skate park in the day long event, as well as a host of professional skateboarders from Vans and Volcom UK as well was top European teams.
Sponsored by the Government of Jersey and Sure, it will be a chance for local skateboarders to put themselves on the world stage amongst professionals and showcase the sport and inspire a new generation of ramp talent.
Those locals include, Eddie da Rocha, sponsored by Pillo, Subterranean Skateboards and Consume, as well as Jess Jones, one of Jersey’s promising young skating talents.

Local bands, DJs, graffiti demos and food stalls will also be on show in the family-friendly occasion and all are welcome to watch. Plus, all the action will be captured by pro skating magazine Grey Skate Mag.
“This is an amazing opportunity for Jersey to show its incredible skatepark to the world. Our chance to show our potential and pave the way for future inspiring events,” said Natalie Mayer of Skate Space, a community project to transform a former St Ouen church into a skate park and creative zone for young people.
“Jersey has so much potential as a fun and exciting destination on the worldwide action sports calendar. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to our skatepark, make new friends with international stars, and create a fun day of lively action and creativity that everyone can witness.”
