Those working agriculture and fishing work almost 10 hours a week more on average compared to those employed in Jersey's financial and legal services sectors, according to newly released figures.
An employment report published by Statistics Jersey this week using data from the 2021 census showed that full-time workers across all sectors work for an average of 39.7 hours per week.
Workers in agriculture and fishing worked the longest hours, averaging almost 50 hours per week.
Those working in the hospitality industry came second in the table, averaging over 42 hours of work per week.
The middle of the table ranged from 38 to 42 hours a week, and included sectors such as construction, transport, retail, and communication.
Second bottom of the table was education, health, and other services with an average of 38.6 hours worked each week.
The finance and legal sectors were last on the table, with workers averaging just under 38 hours work per week.
