A 45-year-old woman remains in a stable condition in hospital this morning, after a serious road crash over the weekend.
The emergency services had to cut the lady from her car, after putting out an engine fire - the car had collided with a granite pillar at the entrance to the Parish Hall, just after 0800 AM on Sunday morning on St Saviour's Hill.
Police closed off the area and fire crews lifted the injured driver from the car before she was transported by ambulance to Jersey General Hospital.
Watch Commander Richard Ryan said: “At this time the casualty’s injuries are believed to be serious and the road has been closed to allow the Police to carry out their investigations in to the cause of the accident.”
