FESTIVE COCKTAILS: Welcome the New Year with 'Let it Sloe'

Friday 03 January 2025

As we settle into the New Year, The Atlantic Hotel is inviting islanders to keep the festive spirit alive with a cocktail that "offers a sip of holiday magic"...

Express has partnered with the Jersey Hospitality Association for the '12 Cocktails of Christmas' series, which will showcase festive drinks from bar staff across the island, giving readers the chance to try their favourite seasonal recipes at home.

The cocktail...

Bar Manager Chris Henry has shared a luxurious seasonal drink built around The Atlantic Hotel’s own Sloe Rum, crafted with hand-picked sloe berries from the hotel’s gardens, which promises comfort, warmth, and decadence for the upcoming chilly January days.

The St Brelade-based hotel said: "At its core is our signature Sloe Rum, crafted here at The Atlantic Hotel with hand-selected sloe berries from our own headland gardens. These berries are carefully infused for months, yielding a rich, velvety depth of flavour that defines this bespoke spirit.

"The result is a perfect balance of tart and sweet, harmoniously paired with seasonal ingredients to create a cocktail that feels both timeless and refreshingly modern.

"Whether savoured at an intimate gathering at home or enjoyed at The Atlantic Hotel, Let it Sloe offers a sip of holiday magic, embodying the craftsmanship and spirit of Christmas."

Chris is from the island of Antigua and has a deep appreciation for the art of crafting cocktails.

He said: "I love blending unique flavours and crafting memorable experiences that reflect the warmth and vibrancy of island life."
