As the clock ticks down to midnight, the owner of Prince’s Bar has put a festive spin on a crowd-pleasing classic with a winter Aperol spritz – a light, refreshing cocktail that’s perfect for New Year's Eve...
Express has partnered with the Jersey Hospitality Association for the '12 Cocktails of Christmas' series, which will showcase festive drinks from bar staff across the island, giving readers the chance to try their favourite seasonal recipes at home.
Created by Sarah Burns, the 'Winter Aperol Spritz' offers a refreshing and festive take on the classic cocktail.
Sarah, who has raised £169,285.29 for local charities since opening the Havre des Pas-based bar in 2012, described the drink as “festive, light, and refreshing".
She added: “While not exactly the original classic, this cocktail is perfect for your holiday festivities.”
The simple recipe combines prosecco, Aperol, and cranberry juice, topped with soda water and finished with seasonal garnishes.
Ingredients:
1 ounce Aperol
1 ounce cranberry juice
4 ounces prosecco
Splash of soda water
Orange slice
Fresh cranberries
Cinnamon stick
Method:
Fill a glass ⅔ full with ice.
Add prosecco, Aperol, and cranberry juice.
Top up with soda water.
Garnish with an orange slice, fresh cranberries, and a cinnamon stick.
