Police are appealing for witnesses after three young males allegedly tried to steal a woman's handbag from her yesterday evening.
Officers said the reported attempted robbery took place around 20:30 in the area of Cannon Street near the Parade Pub.
They said in a statement: "A lady in her 20s, wearing a light-coloured checked jacket, walked from Devonshire Place into Lempriere Street and into Cannon Street. She was followed by three young males who attempted to take her handbag from her. They were unsuccessful.
"Luckily the lady suffered no injuries as a result of the incident."
