According to a former construction manager, the way in which the hospital saga has been handled recently amounts to a "new form of political manipulation".
Stephen Regal had this to say in a letter he entitled 'The Lyndon Farnham Hospital Show'...
Moving on from a States Assembly where a debate failed to take place regarding the expenditure of anywhere between £500 million and £800 plus million pounds for a hospital of unknown size, unknown composition, unknown capacity and unknown specialisations, to then seek to accelerate the debate of the construction of a road to service an undeclared purpose and of an undeclared route causing an undeclared amount of damage to the environment and the facilities of the western side of St. Helier represents a new form of political manipulation in Jersey for an additional cost of nearly forty million pounds.
This is almost unheard of in any democratic society, which is also currently experiencing the unheard of expenditure caused by covid combined with the almost inevitable reduction of tax revenues caused by the same pandemic.
Is this the careful use of our carefully husbanded resources?
