Guernsey women dominate in first appearance in Jersey league

The Green Lionesses made their mark on the Jersey Women's Division after dominating in their first league match.

They came away from their clash with Jersey Wanderers Women with all three points after winning 4-1.

Codie Le Flem gave GFC the lead after 18 minutes, picking up the loose ball from an attempted clearance before stroking it in.

Amy Dallamore doubled the lead just before the half-hour with a first-time lob over the goalkeeper. It was her first goal for the club.

Chloe Ingrouille then made it three just before halftime with some persistence.

GFC created a host of chances in the second half, but the next breakthrough did not come until Donna Gallienne hit the ball from an angle and it bounced in off the far post.

With virtually the last kick of the game, Wanderer’s Ella Brennand clawed back one for Jersey in the 97th minute.

GFC travel to the island again this week to play St Peter on Sunday.
