Local footballers wanted for USA scholarships

Local footballing talent is being sought after by a sports management agency who is recruiting players for American soccer scholarships.

Sixteen93 – run by former American student-athlete Kristian Moore-Cowell – will be visiting Jersey on Friday 1 November to present to players and parents about opportunities to develop their skills across the Atlantic.

Aimed at 15- to 19-year-old male players from across the Channel Islands, who will be expected to showcase talents on the evening, the event will provide an insight into what being a student-athlete in the USA is like.

Sixteen93 are a sporting talent agency who work with American education providers to create and supply scholarships for athletes around the world.

The soccer scholarships on offer will help cover the costs of tuition, room and board, and other expenses related to attending college.

Ahead of the evening, Kristian said: “This is a really exciting opportunity for young Jersey and Guernsey footballers to learn more about how they can pursue their dreams of playing sport, whilst simultaneously working towards their further education.

"The Channel Islands have a great reputation for nurturing young sporting talent and this visit is a testament to the dedication of islanders in honing their talent in their chosen sport. We are looking forward to meeting with and discussing the opportunities available."

The session will take place at Springfield Stadium from 17:45 until 21:00 and anyone interested in attending should email Kristian@sixteen93.com.
