Sports fans across the Channel Islands are being asked to nominate their favourite sporting stars for this year’s Betway Channel Islands Sports Awards, with Jersey's young table tennis star in the running for the top prize.
Four contenders have been shortlisted for the accolade of Sports Personality of the Year 2023, including Jersey table tennis player Hannah Silcock.
In November, the 16-year-old local table tennis star secured the title of the new British Senior Woman’s Champion.
In July, she celebrated her 16th birthday by winning her first-ever Island Games gold medal alongside her sister with a 4-0 victory over Guernsey in the women's doubles.
This victory followed Silcock's “standout performances” at The Commonwealth Games in 2022, where she had back-to-back wins at the age of 15.
