Building a more robust IT infrastructure was a key priority for Offshore Electronics this year, as it strived to enhance its service and better manage its extensive supply remit. When looking for an IT provider they could trust with their data, Offshore turned to Sure Business for support to help identify their digital requirements and overhaul their technological framework.

On an average working day, Offshore Electronics uses around 1 terabyte of data and ships over 2,500 deliveries of neonatal ventilators, oil and gas, lifebuoys and microchip pet scanners, among many other critical resources and equipment. For that reason, it was crucial they had a reliable and stable system in place to provide 24/7 connectivity, secure data storage and high network speeds to deliver the best service to their customers.

To keep their nearly 70-strong team connected, Sure Business provided each staff member with a tablet, readily installed with Cloud Voice software, ensuring open lines of communication both locally and with their UK office. An entirely new server rack was also installed, as well as a Cisco router. With every access point now powered by Cisco, the number of wires and cables running through the office is reduced and data security is vastly improved.

Next, Sure Business replaced the building’s cabling with CAT 6 –to enable a gigabit internet connection – which saw broadband speeds increase to 1Gbps, giving the Offshore team a seamless and speedy WiFi experience.

James Angell, IT Specialist at Offshore Electronics, said of Sure’s support: “Sure has given us reassurance that our business is secure even in the worst-case scenario.  With everything now migrated to the Cloud, we can rest assured that our data is secure in the event of a cyberattack or system shut down, which would otherwise be catastrophic for our company. We were also provided with a battery back up in the event of an outage, which really is invaluable as it means we can carry on with business as usual for up to an hour.

“The attention to detail and round-the-clock support Sure has given us has been second to none, and the recommended technology they installed has had a monumental impact on our overall business output, productivity, and security. They made the whole process look easy, with minimal disruption – in fact the installation in the whole building took only two weeks! I’m really pleased we chose to work with Sure and I’d recommend them to anyone looking for an IT partner.”

Ashley Conquest, account director at Sure Business, said: “Each business has a unique set of needs, so it’s our job to invest the time in finding out all we can about their team and the business itself, so that we can match them with the most suitable combination of products and technology. Over the past 30 years, Offshore Electronics has expanded its customer base significantly, and I'm pleased that we were able to provide the right support and help this thriving local business to carry on doing the fantastic work they deliver each day.”
