A Senior Administrator from the Baccata Group has been chosen as one of 30 candidates for Jersey’s new educational initiative #BuildBackBetter, which is designed to upskill the island's next generation of sustainable finance leaders.

The year-long programme James Lyon will be taking part in was launched in March in parallel with Jersey Finance’s 'Jersey for Good' sustainable finance strategy.

“We are delighted that James has been chosen by a panel of sustainability experts as one of the 30 applicants for this year’s inaugural on-island finance industry sustainable education programme, Jersey #BuildBackBetter," Nicholas Falla, CEO at Baccata Group, said.

"We put James forward as we believe he is a ‘next generation’ financial services sustainable leader and his acceptance on to the initiative further evidences that.

"We all have a role to play in continuing to build Jersey as a global centre of excellence for sustainable finance. We are also committed to creating learning environments that provide a clear pathway to success.”

Mr Lyon added: “I’m really excited to have been selected to be part of the Jersey #BuildBackBetter sustainable finance programme. Networking and attending events is one thing I’ve really missed during covid, so I’m feeling very lucky to have the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals, speak to and learn from experts within the industry and spend time discussing issues which focus on the future and sustainable finance projects for Jersey."
