An Offshore Relationship Director from Barclays has achieved Chartered Banker Status.

Scott Monks has completed a professional diploma in banking practice and management, with the IFS University.

The part-time qualification took him four years to complete and covered a wide range of topics including complex financial analysis, international economics, organisational management and international trade.

In order to obtain Chartered Status Mr Monks had to additionally complete a number of professional certificates in banking at various levels.

“Furthering my knowledge and understanding of not only how my clients’ businesses operate but the demands and requirements of the financial services industry has allowed me to contribute strategically to their business goals and objectives,” said Mr Monks.

“Understanding a business’ place in its wider industry sector, the global economy and how it interacts with its stakeholders is vital to knowing how best to provide banking services and expertise.”

Neil McCluskey, Head of Local Business Banking and Offshore Corporates for Barclays in Jersey said: “We are immensely proud of Scott for achieving his Chartered Status and for the dedication he has to learning new skills in order to deliver a high class service for our clients.

“Scott is highly experienced in handling the complex and diverse portfolios of multi-national corporate clients and is an asset to the offshore corporate team.”
