A statement issued by the Heath and Safety at Work Inspectorate says it has worked closely with the industry to develop these regulations which represent current industry standards, employment relationships within the industry and address the management of health and safety throughout the life of a construction project.

Tammy Fage, Director of the Health and Safety at Work Inspectorate said: “It is believed that the introduction of the Regulations is a major step forward in gaining improvements in health and safety performance within this high risk industry, and to achieve a safer working environment for all construction workers."
