Have you signed up yet for the Bedell Tanzania Challenge? If you have been thinking about it, but are still undecided, you are invited to find out more at Jersey Hospice Care’s information evening on Wednesday 15 April.

The Bedell Challenges are the Hospice’s second biggest fundraisers and are held every two years since they first began in 2001. Previous destinations include Mexico, Peru, Vietnam, Ecuador, South Africa and China and participants’ fundraising efforts have now raised more than £1 million for the charity.

As well as the cycling and trekking challenges, this year, participants are also being offered the chance to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, either at the end of their challenge or as a stand-alone event.

Participants are required to pay £1,250 for the cycling and trekking challenges and if climbing Mount Kilimanjaro as a stand-alone event. If taking on Mount Kilimanjaro as an extension to the other challenges, there is an additional cost of £1,899. This is made in instalments and covers travel, accommodation and meal costs. Challengers are also asked to raise a minimum of £3,000 in fundraising or sponsorship for Jersey Hospice Care.

Anyone interested in signing up is invited to an information evening on Wednesday 15 April at the charity’s Education Suite at its home on Mont Cochon starting at 5.30 pm. A representative from Discover Adventure, the company leading the Challenge, will give a presentation explaining more about it, the country and what participants can expect. There will also be a chance for people to ask questions.
