Two new Commissioners have been appointed to the body responsible for regulating and inspecting services for adults and children.
Joining the Jersey Care Commission, which aims to ensure all islanders receive high quality and safe care, are Dr Kathryn Chamberlain and Mr Gordon Pownall.
Dr Chamberlain is Chief Executive of the Independent Monitoring Authority for Citizen’s Rights Agreements, which aims to protect the rights of EU citizens and families who remained living in the UK post-Brexit. She previously spent seven years at Healthcare Inspectorate Wales, and was the Welsh Government’s Chief Statistician and Head of Knowledge and Analytical Services.
Mr Pownall, who previously worked as a psychotherapist and counsellor, is Associate Director of Commissioning with NHS Hampshire and Isle of Wight Integrated Care Board. His experience includes management of primary, community care and acute mental health hospital services, including tertiary services and palliative care.
The appointments were made by the Environment Minister following interviews held in May.
