A charity that provides access to basic financial services for islanders who would otherwise be excluded from having a bank account has appointed a new Business Development Manager.

Elizabeth Langton will be joining Community Savings' team in St. Helier, having recently worked in Dubai in business development within the fashion industry.

Brian Curtis, Executive Chairman of Community Savings, commented: “We are pleased to welcome Elizabeth to the team and are confident that the charity will benefit significantly from her extensive experience in client relationship management.

"As with all charities, we rely heavily on the generosity of individuals and businesses to allow as us to continue providing our services to Jersey residents who are experiencing financial difficulties and Elizabeth is going to be a valuable asset to the team.

Not only will she be able to help us meet our fund-raising targets, she will also be building relationships with third parties to make sure they are aware of our services and can pass this information on to any Islanders that need our help.”

Community Savings also offers debt advice, financial mentoring and emergency funding by way of low-cost loans and grants, as well as working with schools and colleges to deliver a financial education programme to local students aged 11 to 18.

Elizabeth Langton added that she was “delighted" to be joining the Community Savings team and driving awareness "for the charity which provides such an essential service to our community in Jersey.”
