Free fitness session in the park

Friday 25 July 2014

Local recruitment consultancy, Park, is inviting islanders to celebrate Love Parks Week at a free charity fitness session in Lower Park on Wednesday 30th July, in conjunction with Jersey Crossfit.

Love Parks Week, which runs from 25th July – 3rd August, is an annual event, which celebrates the importance of green spaces to healthy, happy communities. During last year’s campaign events organised in the UK ranged from energetic street dancing, cycling and boot camps to relaxing yoga, tai chi and tree listening. Environmental bug, bee and butterfly hunts and green fingered wildflower planting, food growing and conservation volunteering.

On 30th July, as part of the 2014 campaign, Park is hosting a one hour, fun, fitness session in conjunction with Jersey Crossfit to help islanders get in shape, remind them of the great parks Jersey boasts and to raise money for Jersey Womens Refuge. ‘We’re always talking to our candidates about getting their careers in shape but we know it’s also incredibly important to remain in tiptop physical shape too.  Love Parks Week is a great opportunity to draw attention to Jersey’s amazing parks and to remind ourselves how lucky we are to have such great spaces to enjoy. We hope by organising a mass fitness session we’ll remind islanders of just that,’ said Jo Le Couilliard, co-owner and consultant at Park.
‘We’re offering islanders the opportunity to join us for our free training session at 6pm on Wednesday 30th July – all we ask is that they make a donation of any size to our chosen charity, Jersey Womens Refuge,’ added Toni Bracken, co-owner and consultant at Park. ‘We all love being outdoors and all regularly enjoy the benefits of Jersey’s green spaces and wanted to shout about this while raising some money for a good cause!’
The event takes place at 6pm on Wednesday 30th July at Lower Park.  Free Park technical exercise t-shirts will be provided (subject to availability). Registrations are a requirement.
