Genuine Jersey is setting its sights on the UK

Wednesday 19 April 2017

UK journalists, food writers, and influencers are set for a tasty treat next week as over 30 are set to receive a Genuine Jersey goodie bag courtesy of some of the Island’s top food and drink producers.

The bags, which were overprinted by local company Lab-6, contain an selection of local luxuries, designed to celebrate the wide variety of high quality food and drink produced here in Jersey.

The gift bags represent a cross-section of food and farming in Jersey – from dairy (fudge and caramel sauce) to our coast (sea salt) and our crops (apples and Jersey Royals)- all the suppliers are members of the Genuine Jersey Products Association.

La Mare Black Butter, Sue's Fudge, Jersey Sea Salt, Heritage Jersey Apple Juice, La Cremière Salted Caramel Sauce and Liberation Ale and, of course, the Jersey Royal, are all going to be featured in the gift bag aimed to promote the Island produce beyond our own shores.

The gift bags will be given to media attending the Jersey Royal New Potato Pop Up, a pop up bistro in Covent Garden serving nothing but Jersey Royals.

John Garton, Chief Executive, Genuine Jersey Products Association, said: “While the pop up is all about the Jersey Royal, the goodie bags allow us to help other Genuine Jersey members promote their produce to a key audience in the UK too.

“The Genuine Jersey goodie bags will go to media and other influencers – such as food bloggers. This will hopefully help give our award-winning local producers more exposure in the UK which is important both for boosting sales, and helping secure better distribution off-island.”
