Jersey firms have scored strongly in this year's Chambers and Partners UK Legal Guide for 2023, with high rankings for Mourant, Ogier, Bedell Cristin and Appleby.
31 of Mourant's Channel Islands lawyers have been recognised, including five achieving Band 1, the highest ranking available. Mourant lawyers have also been awarded Star Individual, Star Associate, and Associate to Watch accolades.
Ogier has also seen five top-tier rankings in Jersey, whilst the Guernsey branch has been specifically praised for it's "high-calibre, experienced experts".

Bedell Cristin has also achieved high rankings in Guernsey and Jersey.
The Jersey Dispute Resolution team achieved a Band 1 firm ranking along with several team members ranked individually at all levels. Four of their lawyers have been promoted though the individual rankings, with Robert Gardner and Robert Christie - both Partners in the Jersey Dispute Resolution team - moving from the ‘Up and Coming’ position to an individual banding.

Appleby was praised for its approach to cross-jurisdictional matters, with 15 of the Group’s Guernsey, Isle of Man and Jersey lawyers gaining individual recognition. It secured top-tier positions in Corporate and Finance; Dispute Resolution; and Employment. Its employment team in Jersey was noted as having "considerable expertise in contentious matters".
Highlighted in the list were Group Partner John Bisson in Property, Partner Jared Dann in Dispute Resolution, Partner Kevin McQuillan in Corporate and Finance, Partner Fraser Robertson in Dispute Resolution, and Partner Andrew Weaver in Corporate and Finance and Investment Funds.
