The Hair and Beauty Department at Highlands College has won two prestigious awards in a national competition against hundreds of nominations from across the UK.
Pawel Kulon, Head of Hair and Beauty, represented the department at the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists Learning Development Forum in Blackpool last month.
He took home prizes for 'An Exceptional Team 2024' and 'Overall Winner of 2024' – the latter jointly secured with Newcastle College.
The Learning Forum is an annual event that brings together all major UK hair and beauty colleges and training providers, facilitating demonstrations, industry networking and professional development.
Expressing gratitude for his team at Highlands, Mr Kulon said: "These awards are testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Hair and Beauty department."
Training students at the Hair and Beauty Academy further their skills by offering services to the public for reduced prices.
Highlands Principal Jo Terry-Marchant added: "We have amazing lecturers and support staff who care passionately about their students.
"They are a credit to the profession and I am so pleased the team have been recognised nationally for how great they are."
