A management consultancy firm is the latest business to be accredited as a Living Wage employer by the Jersey Living Wage Campaign.
As a 'Living Wage Employer', HLG Associates has agreed to pay staff at least £11.27 per hour - a figure taking into account the cost of living, taxes, and the value of benefits available to working people on low incomes.
The Living Wage campaign is run by Caritas Jersey, a local charity, who are licensed by the Living Wage Foundation in the UK to manage and co-ordinate the promotion of a ‘Living Wage’ in Jersey.
HLG Managing Director, Jerry Willis said: “Our staff are our greatest asset and ensuring that they are recognised for the hard work they do is very important to us. Recruitment is challenging in the current climate and staff retention more important than ever, so setting the Living Wage as our minimum salary expectation... is simply the right thing to do.”
The Jersey Living Wage Campaign Team Leader, Jennifer Bridge, added: “We are delighted that HLG Associates has achieved accreditation. They join a growing group of businesses in Jersey who are recognised for valuing the contribution of all employees and contractors at their business by paying the Living Wage.”
