HSBC has appointed a new Head of Wealth Distribution for the Channel Islands and Isle of Man as part of a strategy to improve its wealth and personal banking business.
Taking on the role is HSBC professional of more than 30 years, Richard Cannard.
Mr Cannard previously held the role of Area Director with HSBC Expat, and the role of Head of Premier and Wealth across the Crown Dependencies prior to that. He has also held responsibility for the Regulated Risk and Transformation teams, overseeing changes in how the Bank provides financial advice to customers in the Islands and the UK.
Now taking responsibility for the Premier and Wealth teams across the islands, he succeeds Simon Lidbury, who was recently appointed to Market Head for International Clients, Global Private Banking.
Emma Bunnell, CEO and Head of Wealth and Personal Banking in the Channel Islands and Isle of Man, said: "Richard is a passionate leader and has a relentless focus for our customers. I'm delighted that he will now lead our wealth business across the three islands through the next phase of our growth plans.
"Thanks to his extensive experience of strengthening HSBC's wealth proposition, Richard is perfectly suited to ensure our clients' needs are met to the highest possible standard."
