A Jersey-based mining company has appointed a social and environmental specialist as the chair of its board of Directors.
Joining Royal Road Minerals Limited (RRML), Liz Wall brings more than 20 years’ experience across 40 countries with her.
The company, whose head office is based in Jersey and has two resident directors, is a gold and copper exploration and development company focused on projects in Nicaragua and Colombia and is focused on mining techniques that reduce environmental impact.
Ms Wall has a Bachelor of Engineering in Mining, Masters of Science in Environmental Change and Management and a Masters of Philosophy in Development Studies (Oxford). The later two degrees were completed as a Rhodes Scholar.
CEO Dr Timothy Coughlin commented: "Liz is very much a known and highly-respected member of RRML and the wider exploration and mining community. We welcome her to the position of Chair, look forward to her guidance and feel that her appointment is testament to RRML's commitment to innovation in the role of sustainability and responsible exploration and mining."
