A Jersey-based rum brand has partnered up with P&O cruises to create the first rum to be made and distilled at sea.
Founded in 2019 by Ben Clyde-Smith and Harry Coulthard, Tidal Rum is a mix of cask-aged rums from Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and the Dominican Republic, infused with locally sourced coastal botanicals including oak-smoked Pepper Dulse.
As part of its new partnership, the rum will be made on board P&O Cruises’ newest ship, Arvia, as it sets sail for the Caribbean.

Guests will be able to enjoy it either neat or in an array of cocktails in Anderson’s Bar, where the distillery will be based. The Tidal Rum will also be recreated on shore to guests.
Combining “the finest rums of the Caribbean with the fresh notes of coastal botanicals from the shores of Britain’s islands”, Mr Coulthard said he believed the resulting rum had “all the ingredients of an unforgettable P&O Cruises holiday.”
