Jersey Water has been awarded a silver accreditation from people management business Investors in People for the third time in a row.
Investors in People assessed how effectively the water company leads, supports and manages its employees.
Jersey Water achieved the silver accreditation after a process that included an employee survey with an 89% completion rate, in-depth employee interviews with the Investors in People assessor, and a detailed evaluation of the company’s leadership practices, culture and values.
Only 21% of businesses assessed by Investors in People achieve the silver accreditation, which is valid for three years.
Jersey Water first earned the accolade in 2018.
Jersey Water CEO Helier Smith said the assessment is “not only the right thing to do but it is also essential to delivering the best possible service” to customers.
He added: “Our employees are at the heart of everything we do at Jersey Water, so this achievement underscores the importance we place on investing in our people.”
David Dale, Independent Assessor for Investors in People, said: “What was very apparent was that Jersey Water is a very supportive friendly, flexible and enjoyable place to work.
“It’s seen by its employees as an employer of choice. People support each other and our proud to work for Jersey Water because it has a positive reputation in the island.”
Anna Dennett, Head of People and Culture at Jersey Water, said that retaining the accreditation is a “significant achievement” and demonstrates what the firm does to "build a positive and progressive working environment”.
She continued: “Since our last assessment in 2021, we have implemented a range of initiatives aimed at improving workplace culture, including a leadership development programme and a new recruitment platform for attracting new talent.
