JT (Jersey Telecom) has announced its support for the Jersey branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD) by sponsoring the final five Lunch Clubs in 2016.
The first event will take place on Tuesday, July 12th at The Grand Hotel, Jersey with guest speaker Deputy Gavin St Pier, President of Policy and Resources for the States of Guernsey. Deputy St Pier will be speaking to the IoD members about his new role and will share his views on inter-island co-operation under the topic ‘Working better together,’ a hot topic amid the recent EU referendum result.
JT’s Managing Director of Global Enterprise, Paul Taylor said: “JT has a longstanding partnership with the IoD across the Channel Islands, having sponsored IoD lunchtime seminars in Guernsey and in previous years, the annual Debates in both islands. We are very pleased to extend our support in 2016 to the Jersey branch to enable their Lunch Clubs to prosper. To be involved in events which inform on hot topics in the Channel Island and generate lively debate among Jersey’s business leaders, is central to our commitment to supporting the business community and we very much look forward to contributing to these events.”
Chris Clark, IOD Jersey Chairman, said: “We’re delighted to have JT on board as sponsor for our 2016 Lunch Club. These events create opportunities for our members to hear from high profile individuals on topics which affect their businesses and the wider community, it’s essential that the IoD provides forums like this and having sponsorship from the likes of JT enables us to deliver events more often.”
JT’s Chief Executive Graeme Millar has also been confirmed as a panelist for the 2016 IOD Debate in Jersey, which will discuss the topic of ‘Future-Proofing Jersey’ and is to be held in September at the Royal Jersey Showground.
