Its creators say it's 'good mood food' and their range of homemade caramel sauce has certainly put them in a good mood, having scooped five stars in one of the largest and highly regarded food awards in the world.

La Crémière's sauces have scooped five gold stars in the UK Great Taste Awards.

The range of sauces made using Jersey cream and Jersey butter proved to be amongst the crème de la crème. Jersey Salted Caramel Sauce shone and was awarded two gold stars, their Espresso sauce also scooped two golds and their Rosemary sauce another one in the competition that gets 10,000 entries.

It's great news for Annie Fenwick and Shelly Dodds who only co-founded the local artisan food company last year and now have their sauces stocked up on shelves across the UK including Selfridges in London, Birmingham and Manchester.

They said: "It’s an amazing result considering how big this competition is. It’s great for our products to be recognised outside of Jersey after such a successful launch last year. These awards are highly regarded by retailers and consumers and will help greatly with our plans in the UK.”
