Isabel Freitas, 32, has been appointed Manager of leading local care provider Lavender Villa Home Care. Originally a beauty therapist and manager of a prestigious beauty concession, Miss Freitas progressed into the care industry eight years ago.
As a therapist she was approached to assist with the "Look Good Feel Better" group to help cancer sufferers with their hair and makeup needs. Miss Freitas realised she had great compassion for the industry and became a care worker at Highlands luxury care home, caring for people with special needs.
Miss Freitas has excelled in her professional development undertaking courses in British sign language and gaining her States of Jersey Health and Social Care qualifications.
Miss Freitas joined Lavender Villa Home Care (A States of Jersey fully approved home care provider) in 2012 as Deputy Manager to work alongside a project manager and seven employees. During this time Miss Freitas excelled in several courses including Jersey Employment Law, Coaching, Mental Health, Safe Moving & Handling trainer and most recently safeguarding vulnerable adults Pool Trainer.
Lavender Villa Home Care now employs 19 carers who are managed by Miss Freitas. She provides internal training for the entire care group. Miss Freitas speaks English, Portuguese a little French. Her aim is to utilise her language skills to benefit clients and staff alike. In her spare time, Isabel takes a keen interest in learning about healthy living, and enjoys cycling, swimming and travelling.
