Local law firm Mourant Ozannes and London-based crime and professional regulation experts, QEB Hollis Whiteman, will host their first joint Financial Services and Regulatory Forum at the Radisson Hotel on 12 June.
The free forum will feature guest speakers from the States of Jersey and the JFSC, as well as industry experts from both hosting firms and is aimed at Jersey financial services providers who want to keep on top of the latest regulatory developments and issues.
The forum will be a first in Jersey for London-based QEB Hollis Whiteman Chambers, which is regarded as a leading set in the areas of general crime, business crime, professional regulation and discipline and intellectual property.
Philip Evans, QC from QEB Hollis Whiteman, said: “This forum provides us with an excellent opportunity to present and discuss how recent changes in the law on the mainland might impact on the financial services world in Jersey and to detail some relevant regulatory experience of use to those dealing with these questions on a day to day basis”.
Topics that will be covered at the forum include implementing international transparency standards, JFSC supervision and focus for 2017, important developments in the law of tax evasion, outsourcing, personal accountability in regulatory proceedings and sanctions amongst others.
