The Institute of Law Jersey has announced an official partnership with international legal training provider, BARBRI.
The partnership means the Institute of Law Jersey will recognise BARBRI as their exclusive provider of prep courses for the Solicitors Qualification Exam (SQE), which will be launching in September 2021.
The first cohort will begin studying in January 2021, ensuring students will be fully prepared for the new examination replacing the Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and Legal Practice Course (LPC).
The first round of the SQE will commence from November 2021, running twice per year thereafter. BARBRI’s online Extended U.S. Bar Prep course will also be available to students and alumni of the Institute of Law Jersey as part of the new partnership.
“By partnering with BARBRI, we are able to prepare our students with world class technology and pedagogy for the new examinations that will come into effect from 2021," Professor Janine Griffiths-Baker, Chief Executive of the Institute of Law Jersey, said.
"The course will give invaluable insight into what is expected from the SQE and how it differentiates from previous examinations. BARBRI’s prep courses will equip students with the right tools and a personalised curriculum to pass their exams and progress with their careers. This is an exciting time to roll out a new offering, and we look forward to beginning the course in partnership with BARBRI from January 2021.”
