Leo Boessenkool has joined EY in Jersey as an IT risk assurance manager where he will be responsible for testing internal controls and assisting clients with enhancing their IT infrastructure to gain organisational efficiencies.
He is part of EY’s IT risk assurance team, which provides clients with assurance around the integrity of their financial data, making use of contemporary tools and methodologies.
Mr Boessenkool began his career in South Africa where he obtained a degree in accounting from the University of Johannesburg before starting employment and qualifying as a chartered accountant, before going on to qualify as a registered certified information systems auditor.
Before relocating to Jersey, Mr Boessenkool also spent time on a three-month secondment in the United States. He was promoted to manager in 2012.
In his new post, Mr Boessenkool will be leading the ITRA team on various client engagements, from the analysis of critical financial information to the assessment of large scale business change projects.
Andrew Dann, EY’s Channel Islands managing partner, said: “The scope and importance of the work our IT risk assurance team team undertakes continues to grow as our clients continue to evolve their IT environments and effective management of their data becomes more important to them, from both a risk governance and a business performance perspective. Leo’s experience and knowledge will assist the team in adding great value to our clients by making recommendations on their wider IT agenda.”
