Five local companies have joined up with the Victoria College Foundation to help support the overall ‘Lifelong Learning’ experience that students receive at Victoria College and Victoria College Preparatory School.
The schools believe that education goes beyond the classroom so focus on the longer term success of every student.
Elian, Webreality, Rathbones, Moore Stephens and Quilter Cheviot will each play an important role as Foundation Partners by providing access to topical and relevant advice across a range of career options, support of relevant curriculum subjects and by creating opportunities to acquire skills for learning, personal development and employability over the next three years.
Chairman of the Foundation, Jonathan Giles said: “It is important we prepare our students to be successful in the global workplace; to be innovative, think creatively and be passionate about their work. Young people need to have soft skills for the world of industry and to be able to demonstrate strength in communication, collaboration, leadership, resilience and creativity.”
Headmaster, Alun Watkins, said: “I am delighted with this new initiative which allows the school to develop exciting relationships with such distinctive and leading companies. All of our Foundation Partners have the same shared objective of investing in the future of education and helping young people to develop their skills. Their support will benefit a number of curriculum areas and also our five Houses, which underlines the importance of community and pastoral care at Victoria College.”
