RBC plant more than 200 trees for Jersey Hedgerow Campaign

Wednesday 09 March 2016

A team of RBC employees and family members planted over 200 trees last weekend in St Brelade, in partnership with Jersey Trees for Life.

The activity was part of the company’s promise to plant a tree for every attendee that joined the Durrell Business Breakfast on 6 November 2015.

The Durrell Business breakfast has been sponsored by RBC Wealth Management since 2008.

Francis Binney, Environmental Officer from RBC Wealth Management said: "As an organisation, we are committed to sustainable water management as part of our global RBC Blue Water Project™. By planting hedgerows along the perimeter of fields, the trees are able to absorb and hold water during heavy downpours which helps to prevent soil loss and reduce flooding.

"We are delighted to partner, once again, with Jersey Trees for Life in support of their Jersey Hedgerow Campaign, and to fulfill our promise to those who joined us at Durrell Business Breakfast last November."
