Standard Chartered has completed a significant refurbishment of its office, in anticipation of an uptick in the number of employees opting for hybrid working in the wake of the pandemic.
As part of the refurb, the bank has introduced a new café, shower facilities and locker room for cyclists to its 15 Castle Street home.
The firm said its new office design also includes numerous environmental and energy considerations, including LED lighting with motion sensors throughout the entire office, which is expected to save circa 65,000kWh, and approximately 14 tonnes of CO2.
Smart meters have also been installed to help the firm better monitor its energy use, with a target to reduce it by 5%.
Chief Minister Senator John Le Fondré and External Relations Minister Senator Ian Gorst attended the official opening on Wednesday evening.
“This is an exciting time for Standard Chartered Jersey to evolve the way we work, as we know the expectations of our employees and needs of our clients are significantly changing,” explained CEO Henry Baye.
“We’re making a meaningful investment in our office environment because it has an important role in the new working arrangements. It’ll continue to encourage productivity, provide an enhanced employee experience, build an inclusive culture, and remain relevant to attract and retain the best talent.”
