The update comes after customer feedback showed that roaming in the USA was a priority for them. 

Sure said: “The USA consistently ranks as one of the top holiday destinations for British travellers, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA), with over 4 million UK visitors each year.” 

The USA joins the UK, Republic of Ireland and European Union countries under Sure’s roaming allowances. The changes are part of a broader review of packages available in Jersey. 

Mike Fawkner-Corbett, Acting Chief Commercial Officer at Sure, said: “Customer feedback is such an important part of how we shape our services. 

“Adding the USA to customers’ roaming allowances and boosters gives them greater travel flexibility and takes another worry off the list when preparing for a holiday.” 

He continued: “Whether it’s Christmas in New York, winter sun in LA or a magical holiday to Disneyworld, customers have the convenience of not having to change SIMs, alter settings or worry about being disconnected.” 

The telecoms firm said that other changes to its Pay Monthly Plans include “adding unlimited worldwide calls to all unlimited plans and a new Unlimited Ultra plan that includes unlimited data, calls and texts on island and when roaming in the UK, Europe and the USA”. 

Mr Fawkner-Corbett added: “Demand for mobile data increases all the time, and our latest plans reflect that unlimited data is an absolute must-have for thousands of local people. 

“These plans are designed to keep customers connected to friends, family and loved ones, and to their digital needs from entertainment to work to education.”
