Trio become Bedell trainees

Friday 16 September 2022

Bedell has accepted three candidates onto its training programme this year.

David Lobato-Taylor, Catarina Basilio and Steven Zandvliet began their training this month after being selected to join the programme.

Catarina Basilio gained a Law Degree (LLB Hons) from the University of London before achieving a Distinction in her postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She joined Bedell Cristin as a property paralegal in 2018.

David Lobato-Taylor studied International Business at Nottingham Trent University before pursuing his GDL with Nottingham Law School and his LMM Legal Practice through BPP Law School. He previously held a role as a paralegal at Ogier before earning a place on Bedell Cristin's trainee programme.

Steven Zandvliet joined Bedell Cristin in October 2020 as a paralegal before being promoted to legal assistant in September 2021. A Nottingham Trent University law student, he also completed a master's degree in Legal Practice in 2018.

The two-year programme includes placements in each of the firm's core business areas, and usually culminates in qualification as a UK Solicitor.

"Our trainees are a key part of our long-term growth strategy and the selection process places as much emphasis on values, passion and emotional intelligence as on academic background, performance and legal experience. My sincere congratulations go to Cat, David, and Steven, who all demonstrated the attributes we look for in lawyers," said Global Managing Partner, Tim Pearce.
