St. Helier Yacht Club members were very privileged to have been given the opportunity to go aboard this magnificent racing machine.
Alex Thomson, who has very strong Jersey connections, has brought Hugo Boss over to the Island to give our yachtsmen a chance to look over this elite racing yacht and some even had the opportunity to go out for a sail on her.
Alex races this boat single handed and has competed in many offshore races including the Vendée Globe round the world and the Route du Rhum transatlantic races.
St. Helier Yacht Club has used the occasion to raise money for Spirit of Variety and Wetwheels.
Two local charities which enable youngsters with disabilities to go out on the water.
We would like to thank Alex and his team for giving our members this opportunity to see Hugo Boss and to go for a sail. Although the wind was on the light side Hugo Boss lifted on her foils and gave them a very memorable sail. Equally those fortunate to look round her were given a real insight into how living and racing a boat single handed is like.
We wish Alex every success in the future.
