The Jersey Garrison Stormtroopers donated £4500 to three local children's charities at a private reception at the So Bar on Saturday evening.
Throughout the year, members of the Garrison are regularly seen attending public and private events and the donations they collect are given to deserving causes, typically children's charities at the beginning of May each year. This year the money was split between Autism Jersey, Friends of SCBU and the Teenage Cancer Trust with each receiving £1500.
Garrison Commander Paul Bentley said "Thanks to everyone who has booked us and donated to our fundraising efforts. I'm so proud that our members were able to support three fantastic local charities, helping local children and families going through life-changing challenges. Also a huge thank you to Randalls and So Bar for hosting our special evening."
The Jersey Garrison is entirely made up from volunteers who make or build their own costumes, often at considerable expense, and freely give their time in order to help raise funds or awareness for needy causes, and are regular guests at public and private events throughout the year.
