C5 Alliance, the largest provider of technology solutions in the Channel Islands, is inviting students with a passion for technology to apply for its university bursary.
Interested applicants should be applying for a place studying the sciences, engineering or computer science.
The successful student will not only receive a financial grant to go towards their studies but will also be given the opportunity to gain work experience and benefit from a mentor who will offer career advice.
The firm is committed to encouraging and investing in young people who have an interest in pursuing a career in the technology sector.
Matt Thornton, director of professional services at C5 Alliance, said: “Technology is an intricate part of our everyday lives and with a degree in this field you can enter a wide range of industries. Today’s young people are our future leaders within such a thriving industry and our job is to support their development in every possible way.
“Advances in digital technology are creating jobs at a fast rate and, through providing work experience during university holidays, we want to equip the students with a working knowledge of a technology business so they can take advantage of the burgeoning opportunities available to them in the sector.”
Two previous recipients of the C5 Alliance Bursary Scheme are Matt Coleman and Katie Marquand.
Mr. Coleman is currently completing his Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering with Computer Science at the University of Exeter. He said that, alongside the financial aid, the chance to experience working in the industry during a summer placement has been very helpful.
“Working at C5 helped me contextualise what I’ve learnt at university and see exactly what is required when working in a client-centred environment,” he said.
Miss Marquand is in her first year at Bristol University studying for a Master’s of Engineering in Computer Science, a combined undergraduate and master’s degree.
“The C5 bursary allows you to solely focus on your studies and take away the pressure of needing a job. I’ve found it really helpful,” she said.

Successful applicants will be notified later in the year.
