Tickets are now on sale for the Jersey Hospice Care Christmas Car Raffle, where Islanders have the chance of winning a brand-new Fiat 500 Pop in red with Ivory Ambience upholstery, for just £30.

After the success of the inaugural raffle last year that raised a vital £57,000 for the charity, Jersey Hospice Care are delighted to launch the event for a second year. With just 3,500 raffle tickets on sale between now and Christmas, this is everyone’s chance to #WinACarForChristmas, while also supporting Hospice to continue to care for their patients, and their family and friends. The money raised for the charity in 2020 was able to support over four days of care for people in the 12 bed In Patient Unit at Hospice and those in the community at their homes or the hospital.
Michelle Nelson, Deputy Director of Palliative Care Services at Hospice, said: “Every person who buys a ticket really will be giving an incomparable gift to those we care for this Christmas. To put it into perspective, each £30 ticket purchased could provide someone with an hour’s bereavement or emotional support counselling, or an hour’s nursing on the In Patient Unit.”
In previous years a car has always been auctioned off at the biennial Jersey Hospice Care ball, however, with the 2020 event postponed due to COVID-19 along with the new technology introduced at Hospice for selling the Million Pound Lottery tickets online, the Christmas Car Raffle was launched. It now provides a vital source of income for the charity as it emerges from the pandemic.

Following a challenging couple of years for all organisations, charities and individuals it is both a fantastic fundraiser for Hospice and a great opportunity for people to support us while having the chance of winning a great prize. Partners and suppliers, Motor Mall, are currently keeping the stunning Fiat 500 Pop at their store on Queen’s Road where islanders are welcome to visit and see the car in person. Tickets are available online at raffle.jerseyhospicecare.com and will be on sale until Friday 10th December with the draw taking place at Hospice (Clarkson House) on Friday 17th December. The raffle is open to Jersey residents aged over 18. The lucky winner will have the car registered in their name and delivered to their doorstep by 24th December, just in time for Christmas. Based on all 3,500 tickets being sold; 85% of each ticket purchase will go directly towards supporting Jersey Hospice Care, with just 10% going towards the prize fund and 5% to the costs associated with the raffle being online.
