Baker & Partners' litigation and dispute resolution practice is hosting a half-day conference led by Federico Paesano on Thursday 13 November from 9 am to 1.30 pm at The Royal Yacht.

Mr Paesano is a senior financial investigations specialist at the Basel Institute on Governance. In the past he has spoken at key events on behalf of the International Centre for Asset Recovery, regarding the worldwide regulation of cryptocurrencies. He most recently presented at the Global Focal Points on Asset Recovery Conference in Vienna, organised by the World Bank Stolen Asset Recovery (StAR) initiative and INTERPOL.

The conference aims to dissipate the confusion and concerns that exist surrounding the operation and regulation of cryptocurrencies within the financial services industry in the island, by providing a guide to Jersey’s current position. It will be of interest for those working within the digital industry and senior professionals within financial services.

Stephen Baker of Baker & Partners, said: “This event is a unique opportunity to provide those working within the digital industry and financial sectors in Jersey a chance to gain an in depth understanding of what is happening in the regulatory space globally with cryptocurrencies, and how this may impact Jersey in the future.”
