The Channel Islands Co-op (the Co-op) is helping Islanders give back this Easter through £2.50 Easter donation vouchers, which are available for shoppers to purchase in-store. The initiative aims to support those who need it the most this Easter.
The Co-op has announced that it will match voucher donations, with 100% of the proceeds going to local charities. In Jersey, donations will be distributed among: Salvation Army, Shelter Trust, Age Concern, Women’s Refuge, St Vincent De Paul, and Brighter Futures.
For Guernsey, the community retailer will donate to: Bright Beginnings, Wigwam, Salvation Army, Guernsey Welfare Service, Women’s Refuge, and Age Concern.
All shoppers need to do to activate the donation, is simply add the voucher to their shop to support charities in their respective island. Vouchers are available to purchase at all Co-op stores from Monday 20 March until Friday 31 March 2023.
Carl Winn, head of community and sustainability at the Channel Islands Co-op, said: “We are calling for Islanders to come together this Easter and to show the impact of how much your donation can help to make a real difference to our community.
“At the Co-op, we are all about giving back wherever possible and we hope that our vouchers can help to bring a little joy to those who need it most.”
This is the third consecutive year that Co-op has run this Easter voucher campaign. Last year, a total of 770 vouchers were sold, with every sale being matched by the Co-op, resulting in a donation of £3850 to local charities in the community. The retailer hopes that it can overtake last year’s total with the help of its shoppers requesting for the £2.50 voucher to be added to their shopping bill total at the checkout.
