Leading motor retail group, Jacksons, has been confirmed as the headline sponsor of the new-look JFA Combination League for the 2019/20 season.

The Jersey FA made the announcement at the end-of-season Awards Dinner at the new Jacksons showroom on Friday. The Jacksons sponsorship is part of an overall larger one-off funding package, negotiated by the Jersey FA from multiple sources, totalling a staggering £85,000, which will be available for local clubs to take advantage of next season.

The Jacksons sponsorship is a significant contribution towards a comprehensive and diverse funding programme for the first season of the newly merged Jersey Football Combination and the Jersey Football Association. The overall package includes funding from One Foundation, JFA, JFC, Jersey Sport and the FA, who have launched a new “Matchday” App for managing teams and collecting subs. The App is being rolled out with financial incentives from key partner PayPal to encourage clubs to sign up.

Jacksons becomes the first local league sponsor for nearly a decade and has secured naming rights to all male and youth leagues under the JFA.

We are really pleased to be able to support local league football in this way,” said JacksonsCEO Paul Collier.

“We’ve already been working closely with the Jersey FA as sponsor of the men’s islandrepresentative team, and this new agreement highlights our desire to see the game flourish. We hope our actions encourage other sponsors to consider the sport and its massive participation at all levels as a suitable opportunity for community sponsorship.”

The new divisions look likely to be branded:

Jacksons Premiership
Jacksons Championship
Jacksons First Division
Jacksons Youth Leagues (by age group)

Jacksons has shown fantastic support for local football for a number of years and we are humbled and grateful for their continued commitment to our great sport. This kind of financial backing will come as a major boost to our clubs, which provide football for circa 2,200 players,” added Jersey FA CEO Jean-Luc Desbois.

We understand that clubs need investment to thrive and the JFA role as the governing body is to assist them and ensure football prospers in the island.

The JFA is also working on separate sponsorship deals for the women’s league and the new Jersey FA Cup competitions, which it aims to secure ahead of the new campaign.
