LibertyBus is pleased to announce the new Winter timetable will be launched on 30 October 2023.
Some changes made to the timetable in the summer will continue through the Winter so it gives these timetables to establish and grow.
The changes and improvements are as follows:
The early morning service on Route 1, which was trialed in the summer, will continue through the winter. The service starts at 05:18hrs from Gorey, Monday to Saturday with a connection to an early Route 22 to the airport (no change of bus needed). This will allow customers to get to the Airport just after 06:00hrs which allows ample time for the first flight of the day. The same bus will then go to St Peter’s village and operate a Route 9 arriving at the airport at 06:20hrs before heading into St Helier for 06:45.
The additional morning commuter journeys introduced in the summer on Route 1A and Route 2 throughout the week during school term, will continue through the Winter. These improvements have been made to allow parents to drop off their children at school and then catch the bus to work.
The Town service Route 20 and Route 24 will remain as it was in the summer to give the opportunity for the routes to fully establish in its current format.
Route 12A hourly service operates via the new Enid Quenault Health Centre going directly to the site, Monday to Friday, between 9am and 5pm. In addition, customers can catch the 15 and 22 with a 5 minute walk meaning there are a choice of 6 buses an hour to the Health Centre.
Route 13 to La Hougue Bie, Gorey, and the Zoo that increased to hourly in the Summer will remain as hourly throughout the day and not be scaled back to 2 hourly as in previous years.
Route 22 from St Helier to L’Etacq via the Airport will also operate hourly throughout the day, the first time ever this has operated hourly in the winter months.
The Sunday service on Route 4, introduced in the Summer, continues through the Winter.
Commenting on the Winter timetable, Kevin Hart Director for LibertyBus, said ‘This is the most comprehensive winter timetable we have delivered over the last 10 years offering more routes and more frequent services than ever before. We continue to work with our customers and listen to their feedback so we can continually develop the service. Whilst the winter service is only just about to begin, the work has already started on the 2024 timetable so we welcome any feedback.’
A PDF of the winter timetable is on our website www.libertybus.je and the times will be on our App from Monday. A paper booklet is available for collection at the Customer Service desk in Liberation Station.
