Nedbank Private Wealth has donated £800 to The Shelter Trust in Jersey. The decision to make a donation to the Trust was made by Nedbank Private Wealth’s Sustainability Forum as part of an initiative to support and raise awareness of social sustainability.
Karl Kelly, chair of Nedbank Private Wealth’s Sustainability Forum, said; ‘We endeavour to build a better future for all islanders by providing support and identifying opportunities to change social conditions in communities where it is needed the most.’
The Shelter Trust is the largest provider of services for homeless people in Jersey, offering shelter, support and a way forward. More than 400 people a year use the services of the Trust and, at present, it offers accommodation for more than 100 homeless people from four sites around St Helier and St Saviour.
Stuart Campbell, assistant manager of The Shelter Trust, said; ‘Thanks to Nedbank Private Wealth for supporting our service which allows us to maintain a high standard of facilities and services for our clientele.’
Nedbank Private Wealth’s Sustainability Forum, which was set up at the beginning of 2012, serves as a platform to raise awareness of sustainability among staff within the organisation. Each quarter the forum introduces a new campaign to promote awareness of different issues around sustainability, including those relating to the environment, cultural and social sustainability.
