The Managing Director and head of SANNE’s Corporate & Private Client group globally has been selected as a panellist for an upcoming international forum uniting the most senior and elite legal advisers to HNWs and UHNWs.
Mr Steve Sokić will join speakers from the USA, Mexico and Argentina in a panel discussion at this year’s Legal Week Private Client Forum Americas 2017.
‘As a global fiduciary and administration business, SANNE has a wealth of expertise in working with UHNWIs & their family offices around the world including the Americas, having serviced multiple generations for several decades. Most of our clients are families that are truly global and institutionally minded in their approach to family and wealth governance. My fellow panellists and I will be discussing an important development for such clients, namely the balance between the global forces of transparency and the associated factors of integrity, accountability and international law within the context of the adoption of the Common Reporting Standard or “CRS”’ said Mr Sokić, who leads SANNE’s Corporate, Executive Incentive, Private Client and Treasury Services capabilities globally.
‘With the first reporting by financial institutions due in March 2017 by the early adopters, we will be looking at how CRS is changing the way wealth is being managed across the globe, from various perspectives, including recent related developments in the Americas and Europe, continued debate around legitimate privacy in the context of human rights, impact on wealth managers & advisors and also the challenges of CRS adoption for the late adopters. Finally, having the panel session immediately after (former Mexican President) Mr Vicente Fox’s opening keynote remarks will be sure to give the debate a lot of energy. ’
Mr Sokić, who is based in SANNE’s headquarters in Jersey, will be joined on the panel by Mr Armando Lara Yaffar, partner at Chevez Ruiz Zamarripa in Mexico City, and Mr Javier Canosa, of Canosa Abogados in Buenos Aires. The panel will be moderated by conference chairman, Mr Joshua Rubenstein, New York based managing partner for Katten Muchin Rosenman.
The forum takes place at the Banyan Tree Mayakoba, Playa del Carmen, Mexico from 15-17 February 2017. Lawyers from all over the world will discuss the most timely and concerning issues in The Americas, including the election of Mr Donald Trump and how America will interact with the rest of the world as a result.
