Islanders have until the end of April to purchase their early bird tickets for The Dandara Colour Run 2018.

The island’s third colour run, in aid of Family Nursing & Home Care (FNHC), will return on Saturday 16th June. The event is set to attract 1,500 participants, following from last year’s success, where 1,100 people took part.

This year, the charity is aiming to raise £25,000 to go towards paediatric care in Jersey. This will be achieved through ticket sales and participants raising money through sponsorship.

On the day, participants will run or walk a 5km circular route along the beach at St Aubin, to Bel Royal and back, whilst being showered in five different coloured biodegradable paints.

FNHC’s Fundraising Manager, Ivo Le Maistre Smith, is thrilled to announce that there will be a number of surprises in store for this year’s event and with this in mind, he is encouraging islanders who would like to take part, to sign up soon to avoid disappointment.

‘In this third year of The Dandara Colour Run, we are looking to add a few exciting games to the mix, including a lucky draw to let off one of the colour “fire hydrants” at the end of the event. More details on these will be released in due course. This year, there will be more colour and more fun.

‘I’d like to thank our headline sponsor, Dandara and our colour sponsors for this year, UBS, The Enhance Group, BNP Paribas and Jersey Electricity, as without their help the event wouldn’t be possible.

‘The Dandara Colour Run is fast becoming a highlight of the island’s charity calendar. It is the perfect opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to get together and raise money for a great cause, whilst creating a colourful spectacle for those watching,’ said Mr Le Maistre Smith.

Martin Clancy, managing director of Dandara Jersey, said: ‘We are thrilled that the colour run is returning for its third year, and that the number of participants and interest is still growing. We love being involved with the event and look forward to seeing St Aubin decorated in bright colours in June. It is a great way of supporting and acknowledging all the hard work FNHC does for the island.’

Early bird registration is open via the charity’s website until Monday 30thApril, where an adult ticket costs £20 and for a junior it is £15. After this date prices will rise to £25 and £20 for adults and juniors respectively. For more information, please visit the website, fnhc.org.je.

FNHC touches the lives of more Islanders than any other charity, helping children, their families, the sick, the elderly and the dying.

In addition to the entry fee, participants will be encouraged to raise money for the charity through sponsorships from friends, family and colleagues.
