A new weekly series aimed at helping cash-strapped islanders during the current cost-of-living crisis is being launched in this Saturday's Jersey Evening Post.
Titled Family Meals for a Fiver, the food-and-drink feature is being run in conjunction with the Co-op and, each week, will see a selection of easy-to-follow recipes created by local chefs, café owners and restaurateurs.
All recipes featured in Family Meals for a Fiver must be made using ingredients bought from the Co-op, must be able to realistically feed a family of four (two adults and two children) and, most importantly of all, must have a combined total cost of no more than £5.
The first edition of the series - which is expected to run for at least two months - will see award-winning Bohemia Bar & Restaurant head chef Callum Graham offering three low-cost recipes for readers to try at home, with many other local culinary experts due to appear throughout January and February.

In addition to the above, the JEP and Co-op will be inviting readers to send in their own budget family-friendly recipes, with £50 worth of shopping from the Co-op available as a prize for the best recipe received each week (as chosen by the featured chef).
